CINCINNATI, OH – The NEW “Roxy’s Restaurant & Lounge” located at 909 Vine Street is open for business as of Friday, November 5, 2010. The announcement was made to a packed crowd that was held in suspense until Midnight thursday evening, November 4, 2010.
The dining room will continue to be casual dining with an American-influenced menu specializing in burgers and other foods purchased fresh daily by local area businesses including Eckerlin Meats, Silverglade’s Cheese Shop & Daisy Mae’s Farms all located in Findley Market, Giminetti’s Bakery and 5 Star Foodies. Although many of the big selling menu items will remain from the prior restaurant such as the Princess Diana Burger, Phyllis Cheese Fries, and Smothered With Love Chicken, there will be some additions as well as some popular items coming back that had temporarily disappeared such as the Kibee Burger made of a lamb, beef and Lebanese seasonings, garlic aioli sauce, topped with authentic hummus, tabouleh, tomato, cucumber, feta cheese and garnish with a kalamata olive. Other additions will include Mini Filet Mignon Sliders, with a garlic aioli, blue cheese crumbles and caramelized onions, and Roxy’s Tilapia Fish Tacos sautéed and seasoned, garnished with cabbage, lettuce, tomato, shredded cheeses, avocado and topped with a homemade chipotle sauce.
The current eclectic atmosphere will continue to feature one of the only Downtown Sunday Brunch’s and the bar will continue its week day Happy Hour featuring half off cocktails, beers and appetizers. Regular nightly entertainment will continue including; local and nationally known entertainers, live music, cabaret, dj dance parties, bingo, drag shows, karaoke, professional networking events, bachelor and bachelorette parties, fundraising events and with much more to be announced.
The Owner, Mary Onken also announced the exciting addition of its new dining room and Kitchen Manager, Bruce Strong, which many Cincinnatians may recognize from his infamous work at The Cincinnatian Hotel and the original Diner on Sycamore. Coming to Roxy’s with over 30 years of expertise in the hospitality industry including his most recent Management position at the Westin Resort’s Latitudes Restaurant in Key West, FL, Mr. Strong also was a Managing Partner of the two popular Chicago restaurants, Angelina Ristorante and Oo La La! Other notable experience includes his management with the Famous Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group in Chicago, IL and Miami Beach, FL locations, General Manager of Reputation Restaurants in Chicago and Assistant General Manager of Lettuce Entertain You, Inc. also located in Chicago.
Roxy’s anticipates that its crowd will continue to be a lively “who’s who’s”, with its niche being the LGBT community and continuing to welcome all types as well as being the most DIVERSE and FUN crowd in Cincinnati.
